Definition of an Otaku: Someone fascinated with Anime, Manga, and Games. In different terms, ANIME FREAK
Definition of Fujoshi: Old meaning: Someone who likes BL...... Modern Meaning: Female counter part for the male otaku

Yes, u heard me, otaku actually only refers to males grammer wise, but western uses for it meaning Anime Freak applies to both genders, for those people who want to get technical, Fujoshi's the word to describe a female otaku, THOUGH, inside the otaku circle, the word Fujoshi may be taken in an offensive manner, as to referring to the old definition.

Otaku actually has little to do with anime in Japan.

It's a term that describes an obsessive fan of any hobby.

I'm not an otaku though. I love anime, manga, games and the sort, but I'm not obsessive and I'm not a fan of cosplay, roleplaying or conventions.

I'm even in the M.A.G. club at my college, but I feel extremely uncomfortable around the otaku there.

I feel a Definition Fight comin on.

yes otaku in japan means someone with obsessive interests,
it's only in western language that it means anime freak =x
cause it was used many times by anime fans in general,
and =o.....
anda..... i like cosplaying o-o role playing, and conventions..... =x.....

I kinda like dressing up. Not sure if I'd label it as Cosplaying, since I only "Dress Up" on Halloween (and I fkin love it!!!) =o

dress up as something you see in a show, game, or any form of media, and it's concidered cosplay xD

btw, to exalted, ...Genshiken..... i dislike the animation style, -very picky about anime, though i like most anime in general, and will watch basically anything-

Genshiken to me is one of the best anime I've ever seen.

It's honest about the subculture and its storytelling. Too many anime now-a-days try too hard to be the "next big thing" and utterly fail in many more aspects than the animation style.

I never said anything was wrong with cosplaying, conventions or whatever the other thing was, I just don't like them personally.

I'm still sticking with death note because it was amazing.

=x i like anime with a similar animation style to shakugan no shana, or magical girl lyrical nanoha, but i'll watch and accept any anime as long as they're made in japan...

Hmm, my favourite anime is Baka to Test to Shokanju since it's funny and its got the most original storyline I've ever seen/heard of. Did I ever mention how funny Baka is? Its probably got to be the only anime that's actually gotten me to laugh hard for more than a single episode and it only has 9 episodes out so far, so that's a big feat, not only that but it's also got some nice and funny allusions that people can pick out.

I hated Shakugan No Shana.

It was Bleach 2.0 to me, pretty much. I dropped it after 3 or 4 episodes.

I also dropped Bleach after like 150, lost all hope because it kept getting sidetracked and Ichigo kept winning against impossible odds just because he thought about his friends when he was close to dying.

Baka to Test is a great show. Reminds me of Megaman battles, but with educational purposes. >.>

Never heard of it. I'm sure its not bad, but I can't really comment about it because of this.
