Re: My attempt at makin a sig
O-O so, u actually want a critic's response?
... ... if u say so =)
4 a first, it's nice, though you should focus more work on the lettering. Background effects are fancy, good enough, a little bit of a transition effect could be used 4 other parts though, the opacity.... should've stayed at around 75% while the image should've been a bit darker, instead of what it is right now, because even though u want an effect, the image should still be scene properly.... the person to the <--- should've had the lighting effects removed, the shadow blows the rest of the image out of the way, though all things said, for a first, it's well done.
(though mainly, it's the letters)

OMG ME TOOZ! She's my wallpaper <3. Rocket Dock/Rainmeter makes it even more perfect .
As for the sig, two renders are fine as long as they make the sig flow at first sight. Your two renders seems to both be on low opacity as an attempt to not make them look like their just copy + pasted I assume? I think that you should work on colors more because the renders don't really fit that background, but it is a nice background. Also, as above posters said, lettering of text needs work. The text is dominating the renders. Your best bet is to not use text at all. I find text sort of disturbing in sigs. Just remember that layers are what make sigs perfect.
May I ask what software your using to create your sigs? I might be able to help.
Overall First Time = 7/10 (Practice makes perfect! )
EDIT: Now you make me want to make a Shinobu Oshino Sig >.>

I wanna make not "a" Shinobu sig... I wanna make like 1000 >_>;;
I used to use rainmeter too! on some background of her xD But.. In the end I kinda thought rainmeter was useless besides making things look super-dooper-pro-er-than-pro lol >>

I just keep things simple on my desktop to make it blend perfectly . Low visibility of everything but the wallpaper makes your desktop look pro. >.>

Lol @ Latest PlanetRender Upload. Anyways, review time.
Pros:
-Clean Render Cut
-Nice Use Of Colors
-Nice Background
Cons:
- Render looks pasted in, try to use the blur tool to fix that
- Mirror Image of the Render is fine, but both at 100% Opacity makes sig weird.
- Text is in the middle, KOing the Render.
- Sig size is huge.
Advice: (Important is in Red)
- Stick with a sig size. All my sigs are 400 x 200(Width x Height)
- If a render is too big, shrink it down a bit before using it.
- The Entire Render Does Not Have To Be Used.
- Try playing with brushes and filters(I remember GIMP has filters).
- Take your time with the sigs. (It seems rushed).
- Start small. (Basic is best)
- Try to edit your text, it's possible to make it look awesome.
- Never give up on a sig. (Redo until perfect).
- Look at other's sigs for inspiration.
- Have fun! (It's a hobby after all?)

Re: My attempt at makin a sig
Criticism o-o....
-Now 4 after reading what Flutter posted about it-
Blur isn't really need with the renders, playing around with transparency and some glow effects will have the same result. Blur in this case may blend the layers a bit, but some of the fine lines may become unseen as well. Sig size really isn't too big, and you can always resize it later. I always make a really high resolution version of anything first. Since everything's larger, it's easy to spot problems, and also easy to cut stuff out. If you start out small, it might not actually work that well. Also, since some sites have limits on how large signature images can be, having a high res one, then simply resizing and cutting it to a smaller version, will be something that's needed. That though, also poses the problem cause your starting images would have to be high res too. -Makes signatures at a starting size of 2000 x 1000-
This one, i'd have to say the first impression was anything but, due to the fact i stared at it for 3 min before finally seeing what it is o-o, the line where the image ended should be blended better, instead of just ending it on a straight line. Though, after another 5 min of staring at it, the usage of effects are well done. Suggestion: blend stuff better, and instead of ending stuff right on the line, enlarge it enough or don't shrink too much.Reglios wrote:[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
This one, the first impression was better. The text was very obvious o-o, unlike your first one. The rendering was good. The position of the images though, the girl on the <--- is a bit higher than the girl on the --> and also since the image ended like the girl on the -->, there's a gap near the bottom of the <---.Reglios wrote:[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
