Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
Hello Everyone.
I saw this guide in the User Gallery of Camon Hero (look in the spoiler) :
I wanted to know if Summoner Summoner (SS) is really good ?
You have more slots for summons but the less HP and no attack.
I wanted to do one SS but it seems very weak.
Is it really useful to have the maximum slots ever ?
Does someone know that ?
Thanks

Re: Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
I'm not sure about this class either, but seeing that a summoner summoner can use all weapons it should hypothetically be the most versatile and should be able to bring out a lot of summons so you won't have to depend on your own strength. With that said it would probably cost a lot money to keep all your summons up to tip top condition as well as money on yellow stones to summon your summons. I would personally suggest picking up a wand because wands have spells that buff summons. However, that is partly bias because I haven't looked at what the other weapons skills are since I mainly focus on one-handed magical weapons and for all I know other weapons could have summon buffs.
Maximum slots are useless without a strong summons to support the slots if your summons are weak they will die just as fast as if you had a regular number of slots.

Re: Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
Summoner class really would play the role of "support" with 1-H magic because they could heal/buff while their summons fight. However, they can also go to offense by switching to a 2-H magic. Camon Hero allows alot of paths for builds so it doesn't really matter what that chart says. It all depends on how well you play and how well you can fulfill you role if you're in a party. There is no such thing as a weak class because you can take advantage of this huge customization when it comes to weapons and cards.

Re: Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
Pure Summoner seems like every other Summoner from every other mmo. They depend on there summons to fight & can't fight themselves. It's fine by me since I'm going 1H weapon for support anyway.
Re: Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
My real question is the fact about the slots.
Are the 11 slots between Magical Summoner and Summoner Summoner so interesting ?
What are the slots needed for a high-leveled MvP/Boss card ?

Re: Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
well it actually depends on the Boss card if I made correct calculations higher lvl Boss cards cost more slots then lower lvl boss cards... of course I could be totally and completely wrong and they are the same, but it didn't seem that way. To be honest all I really know is Alendra takes 2-3 slots instead of the normal one slot of the mobs that are around Alendra's lvl.

Re: Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
I wanted to go with the "magical fighter" option and specialize in guns, with orbs as my sub-weapon. But, no, I can only use magical weapons... This is so lame. :/

I'm sticking to what I had in CBT2, summoner fighter [Even though I was 70% from getting to 30 to become a fighter then..]

I was looking at the fighter summoner and I want to do that but I think I'd like the spare 762hp from the other mix. Plus fighting fighter seems too 'typical' for fists xD

But yeah, Magical Fighter... Can I still use Guns or will the game physically not let me use them?

ummm.. equipment has to do with where you put your stat points not with your specialisation you could be a fighter fighter and still wield a wand or a staff or a magician magician and still wield a sword or gun... All specialisation do is give you more points

So I can use whatever weapon I want regardless of class, if I get what you're saying, as long as I have the stats to accommodate it...pikadusk wrote:ummm.. equipment has to do with where you put your stat points not with your specialisation you could be a fighter fighter and still wield a wand or a staff or a magician magician and still wield a sword or gun... Hmmm, I have to figure out what the hell to do about this predicament.
...Oh yeah, do you know if stats are reset at the LV30 "job" change?

From what I've heard, from others in-game, the stats do resets at lvl 30 as they did at lvl10

Re: Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
THANK GOD... Because then I can stack up my points into Strength and Dexterity at 30 and on;y put the bare minimum into my Intelligence. GENIUS.
Or maybe I should just use a different build... Gah, someone help me out. XD

Your build might work, but it will be extremely weak. You forgot that VIT is also needed for ALL weapons. If I remember, I hardly had enough stat points to manage 3 attributes. Your build requires 4, so everything would be below average and at minimum.

Re: Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
Okay, I wanna attack with a gun. I wanna attack hard and fast, but at the same time have a decent mount of MP to pull off skill chains without refilling it every 20 seconds.
I don't need to use magic weapons at all, I just need an effective build for what I plan on doing with that idea.

Yeah, then why do you want intelligence at all? MP comes from wisdom not intelligence

Ahh, I must have been getting them confused.pikadusk wrote:Yeah, then why do you want intelligence at all? MP comes from wisdom not intelligence
Either way, would I just use magic-based attacks until LV30 and switch to guns? Because I like the MP pool that picking Magic at LV10 gives. Or would I pick Magic, and then keep my skills in the physical attack range (STR/DEX) and only use the job to gain its MP bonuses...?

MP pots exist for a reason. Remember that you are not a mage, therefore you don't have infinite mp. I would go magic -> fighter if you are really crazy about mp. Skills don't really take a lot of mp though. I plan on just doing STR/DEX/VIT like a normal bow with summon -> fighter.

I would go with what Flutter says if you really want mp. Though I still really don't see why a gunner would need the mp.

Re: Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
I'm a skill-heavy player. If I went Summon > Fighter, I'd have less HP too. I enjoy having a good amount of health.pikadusk wrote:I would go with what Flutter says if you really want mp. Though I still really don't see why a gunner would need the mp.
I might go Fighter > Summoner, actually. I hope that LV50 summoner outfit in the guide/image/whatever is in our version of the game, because in that case, it's a selling point as well, haha.
...I just don't want to look dumb, either. >_>

But, but summoning has nothing to do with mp increase it has do with more slots... >_>" Maybe you should test out a few different characters to see how they play before deciding on one type.

Re: Is Summoner Summoner really viable ?
I know what summoning does... But since skills don't take too much MP, I figured I'd do something useful and just rid myself of the extra MP. Don't worry, I know what does what, I'm pretty well-educated in what the game had to offer up until the end of the GT. I'm just a bit indecisive.pikadusk wrote:But, but summoning has nothing to do with mp increase it has do with more slots... >_>" Maybe you should test out a few different characters to see how they play before deciding on one type.
I figured, lose the MP bonus, get better summon slots, and focus 100% into Str/Dex/and some Vit.
No way. I have to pick my type now, because the GT special costumes are probably only going to be available for one of my characters (if it plays out like most MMOs).

Well, I guess I'm kind of not use to indecisive people, seeing that I had my build out since the end of cbt.
