Prime example, Dungeon Fighter Online, you absolutely cannot go to a channel and to go town, without being spammed by gold farmers.

I'm so used to classes that i feel weird with these "strategy" classes but its pretty fun to be whatever comes to your mind.

Trust me, games without classes are a lot more fun than those with them.

Yeah and it makes every character unique in its own way. It will be really hard to find 2 identical characters.

Re: Hi to Everyone!
It wouldn't be that hard if people followed a build guide, but that also isn't bad.
I just don't like being forced in to a class system structure.
It's a dated system now...still works, but not as fun to me.

That's your opinion, but I don't find anything wrong with either class or non-class structures. Truth of the matter is, classes are pretty much the same as builds, I mean take for example if you had character with magical traits, physical and ranged traits, you could possibly call it a build. What if you were to mix all of those traits, then you get a class. For the record I'm more for the class side (sorry, I don't mean to offend).

Re: Hi to Everyone!
How is that remotely offensive?
I believe there is more possibility when you take the name "class" out of the equation and give players the power to mold their characters.
Yes, because classes are such an MMO convention now, that some people won't be able to adapt and will just go with the pure, uninspired builds.
Some will also be overzealous and try to spread themselves so thin that their characters are completely impotent.
I didn't say classes were bad or that non-classes was the only way to go, just that I prefer not having them.
I think the entire system is tired now,

Re: Hi to Everyone!
How are we going to organize large monster killing events without classes, we will all die. Because we dont have classes. Therefore we dont know who to bring and who not to bring, if we bring everyone then the loot will be less for everyone. I think that without classes this game is going to fail. Every good game has classes. Even if they dont want to. In this game there are four classes scout mage healer fighter. EVEN IF YOU DONT WANT TO ACCEPT THIS IT IS THE TRUTH. You can try not to be a certain class, but your going to be one anyway. Sub classes being scout/mage etc. But no matter what you do there are going to be classes. We need classes without them we will not be able to take down the harder mobs in this game. If you dont want a class then dont play.

I'd agree with you here, if it weren't for the fact that we have mercenaries that are essentially the classes you speak of. We on the other hand can fall under the general class of a summoner. Since I believe we can actually focus on summoning more mercs than focus on our own character.Entranced wrote:How are we going to organize large monster killing events without classes, we will all die. Re: Hi to Everyone!
I had a thought, why not have CH define your stats as a class rather than have the class defining your stats? For example, if your power, health, and dexterity are significantly higher than your other stats you would be given the title of a Fighter (nod to Entranced).
This way we will know who can do what without actually needing classes, you can just aim to fulfill a certain stat basis which would drop you into a certain category.
And for those who keep all your stats even... they shall be given the title of 'noob'.

Re: Hi to Everyone!
The problem with not having classes is the balance of the game. For example:
In almost every mmo, Mages are high DPS but crappy at Def. If you give them a 1h-sword that have the same amount of magic attack as a staff, and 1h-sword buffs that increase the amount of Def, your giving them the oportunity to solve the Cons of the class and will make the game unbalanced.
When Camon Hero starts OBT, there will be some builds that will be hell better than the others and A LOT of people will start to using the same build, just to be better. Then the concept "Build" breaks and it become a Class. Of course, you will decide using that Build or not but at the end, everyone just want to be stronger.

Re: Hi to Everyone!
my opnion is that none of it really matters o-o as long as it's fun to try out new things,
with classes, it limits you of course, but also makes it so ur skills and build are narrowed down a bit making it easier to pick a direction to go,
without classes, it's basically limitless on what u want to make, though without limitations, it's easy to become lost on where you want to go with it,
there are pros and cons of both, =)
all that matters is what one is more used to or likes more,

Re: Hi to Everyone!
Yes, everyone wants to be strong.
If you share a good build with other people, then others will use it.
But there isn't 1 build that is strong enough to take precedence over all others and that's why this system works.
It works because the need for different skills and styles will arise in different situations.
It works because you don't only need to worry about Stats in Camon, but also skill combinations.
It works because the variety of weapons all have skills that suit different styles, some complimenting each other more than others.
It works because damage can be dealt with either magic, melee or as a hybrid and in similar amounts.
It all depends on what you need to do when and that determines what kind of build you will have.

Re: Hi to Everyone!
It's not always about being strong, it can also be about having an advantage no one else has, an example of this would be having a pure movement speed build, mind you it's not meant for power, it's just meant for running around like a certain someone I know *Cough Nano*. My point in this instance is, it all depends on what a person finds fun and I do realise a majority of people will want power but I'm always about experimenting until I get something I like and then go with it.
