Your not supposed to start off by playing Touhou 1 D:. Your supposed to start off with 6 since that's where the bullet hell stats. Plus Touhou 1 is exceptionally difficult.

touhou 1-5 = too old, some of the characters don't even matter, arn't as good as the newer ones

Well you can't completely rule out all the characters in Touhou 1-5, plus the 1-5 series had some pretty good BGM's that are still being remixed to this day, an example is Eternal Shrine Maiden by East New Sound and Nano I think you are familliar with this song, since you said you wanted it and I sent it to you around 3days ago.
